Milos

Island Of Venus

Milos, one of the Cyclade islands, is located in the east of mainland Greece, in the Aegean sea. It is nearby other famous Greek islands like Mykonos, Santorini and Naxos. Milos, also known as Melos, is known for the village communities that sit conveniently right at the waterfront, along with the whitewashed stone buildings and traditional fishing villages with lunar-like moonscape beaches. The island is also famous for the Venus de Milo statue that was discovered here, which is now showcased in the Louvre museum in Paris.

Milos, a Cyclades island like Santorini, is famous for its sunsets. But over 70 serene and sublime beaches with volcanic scenery cannot weigh less. The island is known for its spectacular catacombs and unique rock formations. Milos also serves as a relaxing vacation spot by the sea, which is yet to be commercialised. There are a few hiking trails leading to some of the best beaches that one can explore. Cycling is also a great and common activity to do.
